All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has proposed for conducting Common Management Entrance Test (CMAT)

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has proposed for conducting “Common Management Entrance Test (CMAT)” for admissions to management courses in India. CMAT is expected to wipe out all other state level and national level based entrance exams for management courses except CAT.
AICTE is expected to conduct CMAT between 20th February 2012 and 28thFebruary 2012. Almost 250,000 students are expected to participate in the online test.
AICTE is yet to decide on the company which will hold CMAT. The same company will also set up a call center to answer the queries of the students related to CMAT such as registration, written test format, seat allotment etc. AICTE has invited tenders from the interested companies to hold CMAT and interested service providers are expected to bid tenders.
CMAT dates, CMAT format, application forms and other details are yet to be announced.
Though AICTE seems very much optimist about conducting CMAT, a question is still left unanswered as whether CMAT will prove to be a boon for management aspirants? Share your opinion!!
