Karnataka PGCET 2012 and Karnataka PG Medical Entrance Exam


The Govt. of Karnataka has decided to conduct the Post Graduate Common Entrance Test 2012 for admission to post-graduate medical courses on 12 February.
 
The entire examination process, right from the receipt of question paper to the packing of the answer sheets would be covered by CCTV, key answers would be made available only after the scanning of "OMR" sheets is completed.
 
PGCET will be held only at Bangalore in the view of exam scam at Bellary centre last year.
 
There will be merit seats and management seats for MDS courses offered at various colleges in Karnataka. PGCET is conducted to admit candidates in government seats under the merit quota. Candidates will be admitted to these colleges according to their score obtained in this exam.
 
PGCET 2012 Important Dates:
  • PGCET Entrance test for MDS courses: 12 February 2012
  • Staring date of availability of application forms: 4th Week of November, 2011
  • Last date of receiving application forms by post: 3rd Week of November, 2011
  • Last date of receiving application forms in person: Last Week of November, 2011
Paper pattern for PGCET 2012:
 
PGCET consists of 200 objective type questions with duration of 3 hours. One mark will be given to the each correct answer.
 
Eligibility Criteria for PGCET 2012 MDS Courses:
 
Candidates should possess BDS degree from any college recognized by Dental Council of India. Also those colleges should be within Karnataka. If those colleges are outside Karnataka, then such candidates will be eligible only if they are of Karnataka origin.
 
How to apply for PGCET 2012?
 
Applicants need to fill the form online by visiting the website www.rguhs.ac.in. After that it should be submitted to the Registrar, RGUHS, 4th ‘T’ Block, Jayanagar, Bangalore – 560 041. It should be accompanied with a DD as registration fee and two extra photos. Forms can be directly submitted by the applicants or they can submit it through post. DD of registration fee should be taken in the name of ‘Registrar, RGUHS, Bangalore’. Registration fee specified for SC, ST and Category – I will be Rs.400/- and for others it will be Rs. 1500/-
