Sri Ramanujar Engineering College, Chennai came into existence in 2002. The college is managed and run by Swamy Educational Trust, which is a registered society. It is affiliated to Anna University. Sri Ramanujar Engineering College is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, Government of India and Government of Tamil Nadu. The college conducts courses in engineering and technology consists, at undergraduate level. Spread over 25 acres of land, Sri Ramanujar Engineering College provides state-of-the-art facilities to its students.

Inline with the growing need of the engineering and technology fields, equal importance is given to Placement and Training as given for the academic activities. Keeping in mind the same, the trust has appointed Prof. K. Narayanan, B.E., M.B.A., (Ph.D) a retired Managing Director, TNSTC, as a full time Director for Placement. The college is inviting a number of corporate houses to select students for placement.
